Tim Walker

Tim Walker is one of the most inspiring photographers and by far one of my favourite. His photographs are just my cup of tea; with their fantasy themes, amazing surroundings, gorgeous clothes and sense of humour.

I would most definately recommend a trip to Somerset House for the Tim Walker: Story Teller Exhibition. It is brought to life by giant props, among the rooms full of stunning photographs.

The Chanel exhibition displays over 100 black and white photographs of famous muses wearing the tweed jacket.

Each photograph was taken by Karl Lagerfield and each photograph has been styles giving a sense of the person's personality.

The exhibition is currently at the Saatchi Gallery in London and is a must see

Here's some of my favourites

BALLGOWNS

V&A: Ballgowns
British Glamour since 1950

I recently went to the Ballgown exhibition at the V&A and although there were some incredible dresses from the last 60 years, the exhibition as a whole was quite disapointing.

There didn't seem to be much of a logical order to the display and the only thing which seemed to group the dresses was a colour theme. There was also very little information about who the dresses had been made for and for what event. With couture ballgowns being such a symbol of the event and identity of weare it would have been much more fitting to know this infromation and even see images of the wearer in dress.

"Carefully chosen for one special occasion, a ballgown should not only flatter the wearer and demonstrate her sense of style but also illustrate an understanding of the significance of the event to which it is worn"
